Army CWO
Matthew Scott Lourey dreamed of flying helicopters as a child. He was
living that dream when his helicopter was shot down by small arms fire
in Iraq on May 27, 2005. He is survived by his wife Capt. Lisa Lourey
of VA and his parents and nine siblings. He was 41. This quilt was
given to his parents. His wife received a quilt from the Washington D.
C. chapter. |

Minnesota
National Guard Army S. Sgt David F. Day, 25, was killed while helping
to evacuate a wounded soldier in Iraq on Feb. 21, 2005. Two other
Guardsmen died that day in the rescue. Day had begun a career in the
St. Louis Park police dept. before being called up. He leaves his
parents in Morris, and his wife, Amy. |

Civilian
John Pinsonneault, 39, served as a Marine during Desert Storm. He died
in a suicide bombing while serving as security for State Dept.
employees in Baghdad's green zone. He was Mayor of North Branch, MN in
1999-2000 and was a dedicated patriot, hockey coach and motivator. He
is survived by his wife, Lorie, a daughter and three step-children. |

Army Sgt.
Michael Curtis Carlson grew up on the east side of St. Paul and
graduated from Cretin-Derham Hall in 2000. His high school nickname "Shrek"
followed him into the Army. He was one of five soldiers who died on
Jan. 24, 2005 in a vehicle roll-over. This quilt was presented
to his parents who now live near Hastings. |

Marine
Capt. Nathanael Doring always wanted to fly. He earned a degree
in electrical engineering. His helicopter went down in Iraq on May 27,
2006. This quilt was given to his parents in Apple Valley, MN. He also
is survived by a son, Alex, age 9, and a sister and brother. |

Capt.
Doring is also survived by his wife, Capt. Lisa Doring, who was
serving in Iraq when her husband was killed. This quilt was sent to
her in Oceanside, CA. Capt. Doring is buried in Arlington National
Cemetery. |

Sgt. Maj.
Michael Charles Mettille was serving as 1st Sgt. to Alpha Co. of the
134th Brigade Support Battalion, Minnesota National Guard, at Camp
Adder in Iraq when he suffered a fatal heart attack. He leaves a wife
and four young children in West St. Paul, MN. This quilt was
made by Edel Ruth Pavlak and Nanette Sutherland, and signed by his
son's grade school community. |

Marine
Cpl. Anthony McElveen played hockey and was in the band at his high
school in Little Falls, MN. He was always welcomed back there. He was
killed on Dec. 1, 2005 in the same incident as Cpl. Scott Modeen. This
quilt is for his parents who now live in N. Ft. Myers, FL. |

Pfc.
Matthew Milczark was a proud Marine from Kettle River. He died at 18
in Camp Victory, Kuwait. His father and step-mother received this
quilt in honor of his sacrifice. He is also survived by his mother and
two brothers. |

First Lt.
Jason Timmerman of Marshall, who was serving with the MN National
Guard, died while carrying an injured soldier away from battle. He was
a medic in Iraq and a math teacher in MN. He died on Feb. 21, 2005 in
Baghdad. He is survived by his wife, parents in Marshall, and brother
who is also serving in the Guard. |

Lance Cpl.
Scott T. Modeen was killed by an IED with nine other Marines in
Fallujah on Dec. 1, 2005. This quilt went to his mother and
step-father in Blaine. He was 24 and on his second deployment when he
died. Scott is also survived by a sister, his father, and many
friends. He enlisted shortly after 9/11. |

Brian Hellerman is survived by his wife and son Travis, 18, and
daughter, Katelyn, 13 of Hope Mills, NC. This quilt was made for them. |

CWO
Patrick Dorff grew up in Buffalo, MN. He was 32 when his helicopter
went down in the Tigris River while on a rescue mission on Jan. 25,
2004. His parents now live in Remer. He also left a wife and young
daughter and a sister and brother. This quilt was made entirely by Peg
Sanford of Eagan. |

Army Staff
Sgt. Brian Hellerman followed his father into the military. It was his
way of honoring the father who died when Brian was 15. This quilt went
to his mother and stepfather in Freeport, MN. He died in Iraq on
Aug. 6, 2003, the second Minnesotan to be lost in the conflict. |

Sgt. 1st Class Mickey E.
Zaun of Brooklyn Park served in Special Ops when he was killed in Iraq
on Jan. 28, 2005. This is the first quilt we've tied. Many Civil War
soldier's quilts were hurriedly tied by the women who made them. |

This
quilt was made to honor Army Sgt. Joshua R. Hanson who served in the
Minnesota National Guard from Detroit Lakes. He died when an IED
struck his vehicle on Aug. 30, 2006 in Iraq. His parents live in Dent,
MN.

Army St.
Sgt. Dale Panchot was killed by enemy fire on patrol in Iraq in
November, 2003. Dale's quilt was presented to his sister, who will
bring it to her parents in Northome. |

Pfc.Elden D. Arcand's mother and step-father live in Forest Lake, MN
and were delighted to know about the project. Pfc. Arcand died in a
convoy accident on August, 6, 2005 in Iraq. We sent this quilt in
October 2006. |

CWO 3
Corey Goodnature grew up in Clarks Grove, MN. He was a member of the
famous Night Stalkers Force, the 160th Special Operations Unit. He
served and died in Afghanistan.
We made two quilts for his family, one for his parents in Minnesota
and one for his wife and two sons in Savannah, Georgia. They were sent
in October, 2006 |

was made and sent to the family of Cpl. Tyler Fey, USMC, of Eden
Prairie, MN in October, 2006. He died in combat on his second tour of
duty in Iraq on April 4, 2004. |

Given to the parents of
Sgt. 1st Class Michael Benson of Winona, MN in September, 2006. He was
a career soldier, who served all over the world, and was injured in
Baghdad on Aug. 2, 2005, and died Aug. 10 of his injuries at the age
of 40. This quilt was made by Millie Moe of New Brighton. |

Shakopee, MN in September, 2006. Pfc Herrgott was the first Minnesotan to die in Iraq, and died of a
sniper bullet on July, 3, 2003 |

Lance Cpl. Levi Angell, USMC of Cloquet, MN in August of 2006. He was
killed in Anbar province on April 8, 2004 when his Humvee was hit by a
rocket-propelled grenade. |

the parents of Pfc. Moises (Moy) Langhorst, USMC of Moose Lake, MN in August,
2006. Pfc. Langhorst was only 19 when he died in combat on April 6,
